Women at the New Museum
The New Museum is known for statement-making shows, and its latest slate, comprised of 5 solo exhibitions by female artists, stakes out a pro-woman stance without explicitly embracing identity politics. Each show has a unique appeal - those interested in the ways in which urban space informs social actions will find much to appreciate in Lidén’s second-floor exhibition, while fans of hypperrealist painting will find Altfest’s Lobby Gallery show invigoratingly discomfiting - but our favorites are the exhibitions of Dean, Djurberg and Barlow. →
