L.L. Bean has reshot 4 catalog covers from its archives in honor of the company’s 100-year anniversary. The covers all feature period or vintage clothing and props taken from the L.L. Bean archives, found on eBay, or in the case of the small boy’s outfit on the January cover, borrowed from the Metropolitan Opera’s costume shop. ”We wanted to look for the covers that told the best story and that resonated with our customers,” L.L. Bean creative director Marcia Minter says of the re-imagined catalogs. (WSJ)
