What: Cocktails and a concert to celebrate the global launch of Matthew Williamson’s collection for H&M, with guest star Grace Jones

Where: The Cornucopia Majesty Yacht, which was docked at the South Street Seaport in Manhattan

Who: Grace Jones, Matthew Williamson, Mary Kate Olsen, Helena Christensen, David Schwimmer, Alexis Bledel, Daria Werbowy, Lilly Donaldson, Ellen Von Unwerth, Pat Field, Jean Pigozzi, Gilles Bensimon, Susanne Bartsch, Catherine Baba, Pat Cleveland, and an assortment of gender illusionists and media mavens.
Setting: A gauntlet of snappy sailors saluted guests on the way to the boat, where throngs were rushing to the bar. Disco hits delighted the Club Sandwich kids brought in from Paris for the night. Grace Jones finally descended in a glass elevator at 11:15 (for her 10:30 call time), mesmerizing the audience with a 30-minute set with four costume changes, ending in purple confetti falling on the crowd. Ms. Jones cast the evil eye on the models that pranced out on stage wearing Williamson’s clothes during her set. Whose show is it, anyway?

Libations: Coconut Creams, Havana Coolers and Margaritas. Basically anything you could serve in a pineapple and decorate with umbrellas and tropical swizzle sticks
