If last night’s event proved anything to me, it’s the tenacity of New Yorker’s in the face of adversity. Seriously, nothing stops this city, at least for very long. Just one week on from the devastation of Hurricane Sandy, and literally in the midst of snow storm ‘Athena,’ dozens of people turned out for the launch of Inventory Magazine Issue 07 at the Vitsoe store on Bond Street. Once the snow buildup had reduced to a wet drip on their coats and beanies, attendees cracked open a beer and got on with the show.
The new issue, displayed in eloquent stacks around the large, minimal furniture design store was accompanied by a selection of good’s featured in the Vancouver-based publication and curated for the Vitsoe pop-up shop. The items, which include a selection of ceramics, stationary and home wares will be for sale until Saturday. The latest issue of the magazine is available now and features columns on Japanese brand Wtaps Fall Winter 12 collection and a Carhartt WIP spread as well as a selection of editorials, essays, illustrations and interviews.
