GROWING PINTEREST: Pinterest, a two-year-old social bookmarking site that lets users collect and share things they like on the web, is driving increasingly significant amounts of traffic to retailers’ websites. The service enables users to create online bulletin boards, or “pinboards,” for popular categories such as home decor, food and wedding inspiration. Members can use Pinterest’s “Pin It” bookmarklet tool and iPhone app to save things they see online and offline, and explore and repin the images their friends collect via their personal news feeds. MILLERS OATH: WSJ gets the story on Miller’s Oath. “given the number of designers currently mining Americana heritage, for the 33-year-old Minnesota native, the frontier-meets-luxe look is a natural fit.” (WSJ)

MORE DRAMA FOR CFDA: THE CFDA has caused controversy after it decided to relocate its offices from the New York’s beloved Garment District to Bleecker Street – a move designers have described as a snub to the area – a location that the organisation have always tried to protect and promote through initiatives such as Fashion Incubator and the Made In Midtown study. SMILE!: Gen Art, the showcase for young and emerging fashion and accessories talent, will be back this New York Fashion Week with several initiatives and a new designer lineup. The three designers showing as part of the New Garde Fashion Show will be William Okpo, which is designed by Darlene and Lizzy Okpo; Samantha Pleet, who makes her clothes in New York and, when possible, uses organic materials, and Gemma Kahng, who recently relaunched her collection. The show is sponsored by Crest. (WWD)
