Avid blog readers are still begging for more #menswear to fill their insatiable appetite. They’ve developed a taste particularly for Pitti Uomo street style. Pitti Uomo is one of many trade shows one in which is most notable for being overshadowed by Tommy Ton’s photography skills. Nowadays whenever you hear Pitti Uomo, you get your memes ready to share with clever, condescending quotes about the massive amount of Tumblr reblogs coming. Many style inspirations get picked up from Pitti Uomo street style. For one, unstructured blazers are prevalent at the show, err, on the walk/smoke break between shows. Don’t forget about monkstraps either. Monkstraps are shoes truly fit for men that exhibit a wise demeanor fit for a mentor. These “godfathers” of fashion walk the streets of Milan looking like a million bucks, so why not copy their steeze?
The highlight of the Pitti look is most definitely the scarves. The best way these “godfathers” compensate for their missing ties (it’s no secret, we know they didn’t wear a tie) is with a scarf laid under the jacket lapels or tied around their neck and tucked into their shirts or blazers. The look is Mediterranean classic, the European side of menswear, and (thanks to you) it will be the norm for this season.

Typical winter scarves come in different knits and fabrics, typically a chunky knit wool or a heavy cashmere. This Fall, scarves will be singing a different tune in lighter weights. These scarves are usually worn with v-neck tees and leather jackets, but expect them to be repurposed this season for a look that’s less casual and more mature.

The cooler weather has arrived so expect tons more photos of suits with scarves mainly on the younger menswear folks. When it comes to your own style, don’t focus on looking like these godfathers. Dress like the mature gent you want to be, and keep the style going well into their age, then you too can become one of the elite.
