Uniforms for the Dedicated AW11

Swedish brand Uniforms for the Dedicated is making a name for themselves thanks to the unusual installations and imaginative image pieces they create every season, in addition to a solid menswear collection, and a record label. AW11 collection is called 2A Manikin, and the design team describe it this way:  “a season of endeavors seemingly odd in nature, many extraordinary missteps, and few stunning achievements. With combined motion of creativity, the collection of A/W 11 once more makes us turn untested ideas into action in the producing laboratory of Uniforms for the Dedicated. By direction of Features 2A Manikin, we set out to handcraft an exclusive line of detective costumes carrying unique investigating features for the devoted seeker, an assignment promising inventions of varied beneficial use yet made with careful precision. Likewise, driven by continuous experimentation we relate to various design cultures and time periods to create a clothing line sustainable over time. Combined with updated features of function and detailing, the clothing line of A/W 11 consists of variations of wool and hemp garments, organic jersey, recycled cotton, and fabrics hailing from Japan.”  For AW11, the designers have looked for new, experimental fabrics to work with, as cotton prices continue to rise, and have found some amazing recycled fabrics that look great for the season.
